Last September, Global Switch introduced the latest in liquid cooling technology at its Hong Kong data centre—a first for the region. The data centre market in Hong Kong is estimated to grow in value from US$3 billion in 2023 to around US$5.7 billion by 2028. This growth will be driven to a large extent by the continued, government-supported development of the local AI industry. Highlighting the importance of the infrastructure that supports this industry, the Hong Kong government estimates that computing power demand in the city will reach 15,000 petaflops by 2030.
